For this year’s edition of NADA Miami The Green Gallery will present a suite of works representing exhibitions from the recent past. One view will be Mariah Robertson, Mike Paré, Katy Cowan, Kazuyuki Takezaki, and Kaspar Müller.
Although different in subject, these artists find links through exploration of formal quandaries. Robertson’s darkroom investigations take on sculptural presence via emphasis on materiality over image. Generative picture making produces a certain visual indulgence in Paré’s work, as we navigate lush fields of color and various internal passageways contained within. A psychic, almost visionary, energy echoes within Cowan’s paintings that explore the body in space through repetitive, directional mark making. Takezaki posits a pictorial inquiry about the history of landscape painting; thinking through Japanese history, its influence on early Modernism, and possibilities for the present. Müller rounds out the group with cheeky drawings that toy with the artist's biography and tropes of the contemporary; imagining potentialities for this media therein.
We hope you are able to join us at booth E-201, December 5th - 9th.
