A one-night exhibition, "Drive Thru" comprises two works that bracket a recent period in the artist's life during which he "retired" from art to explore other categories of imaginative endeavor. Curb Giveaway, a video from 2003, documents Robbins' farewell gesture toward the art world, which took place at his New York gallery, Feature. Four False Endings, a quartet of paintings from 2010, indicate a return but do so in an ambiguous manner, as the work's title suggests. "Drive Thru" refers both to the brevity of this Green Gallery exhibition and to the creative force which, as Robbins learned during his retirement, is stronger than any ambivalence an artist may feel about the art world
