ObDob supported by The Green Gallery and Misako & Rosen
For this year’s Basel Social Club, ObDob will be doing a project with The Green Gallery and Misako & Rosen. In the spirit of collaboration, affordable art, and the ability to mark occasions with mementos, ObDob is bringing wearable pieces made by ten different artists that will be sold during the social gatherings at Basel Social Club. Specifically, unique and hand-made items will be vended throughout the premises during their events, such as hats, pins, bags and shirts. In response to Basel Social Club’s site of a historic bank, and with this year’s emphasis on economic exchange, ObDob's project means to highlight the network of support systems that artists create for themselves, as a community; and aims to draw attention to the way the economic lives of artists very often depend on such systems, and on collaborative efforts.
ObDob is a project run by Berlin-artists Katy and Scott Cowan, featuring (for example) hand-dyed clothing and limited run pins. In addition to ObDob’s own products, we support other artists by working with them to make artist-designed pins, handmade bags, and one-of-a-kind stitched hats. Extending this history of collaboration to Basel Social Club, ObDob will be vending a new line of products specifically for this event, with the support of The Green Gallery and Misako & Rosen.
